Software

deer Logo

To make this logo I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 as it is the newest version of the software and also gave me all reinvent tools that I needed to create the logo including the 3D feature to create a 3D image. I also used Photoshop due to it being the easiest piece of software for me to competently use.

Banner Social Media Banner

To make this Social Media Banner I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 as it is the newest version of the software and also gave me all reinvent tools that I needed to create the social media banner including the feature of layering objects on top of each other to give the effect I wanted.

graphics-newsletter Newsletter Template

To make this Newsletter Template I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 as it is the newest version of the software and also gave me all reinvent tools that I needed to create the template. I used the draw feature to make a box with rounded edges for the footer and also layer images and text on top of it.

graphics-letterhead Letterhead

To make this Letterhead I used Microsoft Word 2013 as it is the newest version of the software and also gave me all reinvent tools that I needed to create the Letterhead. I used images to layer the logo and footer onto the A4 page.

Tools

deer Logo

To make this logo I used many different tools including 3D, Text, Pen, Paintbrush, Eraser, Selection tool etc. I used the Paintbrush, Eraser and Selection Tool to create the deer silhouette on the left of the logo. I used the text tool to create to title on the right of the logo. I then used the 3D tool to add a 3D effect onto the whole logo.

Banner Social Media Banner

To make this Social Media Banner I used one main tool which was the blending options. I used the blending options to add a white glow behind the twitter logo, username and logo to one add emphasis to that part of the logo and also make the text readable of the light background. I also used the text tool to add the Twitter username and I copied the twitter logo from Google and used the transformation tool to resize it.

graphics-newsletter Newsletter Template

To make this Newsletter Template I used one main tool which was the text tool where I copied the current newsletter content and used it too add content to the new template, I then used the shape tool too add a rounded edge box to act as the footer border, I then layered the Facebook and Twitter logos onto the left of the footer. I then used the text tool again to add contact details on the right of the footer.

graphics-letterhead Letterhead

To make this Letterhead I used the pre-made logo and the slogan from the Newsletter Template I then used Photoshop to crop the logo just to the silhouette of the deer and added that to the bottom left next to the footer and contact details.

File Formats

deer Logo

For this logo I saved the logo into a ‘.png’ file format as this format allows the use of transparent pixels. I also chose the ‘.png’ file format because it was a small file type for web purposes, accepted by all platforms and also still keeps a good image quality for viewing.

Banner Social Media Banner

For this Social Media Banner I saved it as a ‘.png’ file, I used this for the same reasons as the logo, png is a small file in size and it has a high enough quality for web viewing. PNG’s are a file format accepted across all platforms which allows users from anywhere to see the banner.

graphics-newsletter Newsletter Template

I saved the Newsletter Template as a ‘.docx’ file format the header and footer are in the header and footer on word, these are put there to prevent accidental modification the rest of the page is editable to add news stories. This can then be saved as a ‘.pdf’ too send out the viewers and visitors.

graphics-letterhead Letterhead

I saved the letterhead as a pdf, a pdf is a file that can be opened in word and then text can be added to make a letter to send out to people. I chose this file type as mostly everyone can open it and it is a nice small file that can be easily shared with others.

Image resolution

deer Logo & Social Media Banner

For the logo I used the image resolution of 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch). I chose to use this resolution for two reasons, primarily so the logo can be seen at high quality on a range of devices and also that the file can be small yet still hold the high quality image.Banner Once again for the Social Media Banner I chose to use the resolution of 72ppi I chose this because the resolution is high enough for the banner to be seen at the high quality on any web browser and mobile device.

graphics-newsletter Newsletter Template & Letterhead

The the newsletter template I used a higher image resolution at 300ppi. I used this because printed documents can have a higher ppi resolution when printed on paper, I used a higher ppi resolution when making this to account for the print resolution. Once again for the letterhead I used the high image resolution of 300ppi, like the newsletter template the letterhead the printed document has a higher ppi resolution so I increased the resolution in the graphics-letterheadcreation of the document to reduce the risk of there being any issues when printing.

Colour Depth

For the colour depth, I used the same 32-bit colour depth for all of the graphics I made using Photoshop. PNG image format can use 24-bit depth, as well as 32-bit depth, using a fourth 8-bit channel for transparency. I chose 32-bit colour depth due to its ability to process the transparent pixels on the image
